My Favorite Guitarists

here are my Top 11 fave guitarists:

Some of these will be expected based on my playing, but some may surprise you!!

  1. Steve Vai - anyone who knows me knows I am an enormous fan
  2. Joe Satriani - Joe taught Vai, so - no surprise: Joe writes Strange Beautiful music…
  3.  Steve Howe - always loved YES, and Steve seemed to weave in and out of so many styles!
  4. Ronnie Le Tekro - TNT's axe slinger wrote some of THE CATCHIEST licks of the 80s/90s, and his techniqur is jaw-dropping
  5. Jon Gomm - always loved great acoustic players, and Jon's “Passionflower” is a masterpiece.
  6. Jennifer Batten - unbelievable musicality, chops for days, and some really unique technical approaches; always been a fave!!
  7. Adrian Belew - heard him first with Crimson, and then his solo stuff/Bowie, and more. an uncategorizable genius! 
  8. Trevor Rabin - when 90125 came out, I thought “that is the future of prog”; condensed writing, heavier licks, but still obviously YES.
  9. Allan Holdsworth - no words….the master
  10. Brian May - all those harmonies, all those melodies; Queen's music left an indelible mark.
  11. Ace Frehley - if it wasn't for Ace, there would be a whole let less guitarists walking the earth….
