Songs in my playlist you probably don't expect...

Hi There!!!

Haven't added anything here in a while, so I thought I would drop a few “surprise” tunes that are found in my playlists…most people know I'm a guitar music junkie, but some of these may have you scratching your head -

“Evergreen” by Barbara Streisand - has there EVER been a better female vocalist? the melody is beautiful, and her voice - perfection.

“No Roots” by Alice Merton - infectious groove on this one.

“Prisencolinensinainciusol” by Adriano Celentano - this is an italian artist who wrote a song in gibberish that he thought sounded like English slang - funny, catchy, and brilliant!!

"Right on Track" by the Breakfast Club - one of my favorite MTV tunes; great hook, and super creepy video (there is a robotic hand with an outstretched, deformed finger playing a piano that creeps me out)

“Surrounded” by Chantal Kreviazuk - I believe this to be one of the most perfectly crafted pop songs EVER; her vocal is delicate and powerful at the same time.

“Name of the Game” by Crystal Method - the HEAVIEST groove !!!

“My Lovin” by En Vogue - man those women could SING!!! back before auto-tune, too…

“Kayleigh” by Marillion - was an enormous fan of this band in the 80s…

“Wishing Well” by Monte Montgomery - if you play music and don't know who Monte is, find out - NOW!

“Flashlight” by Parliament - Bootsy, baby…that is all!

“Circles” by Post Malone - the dude can write a great song for sure…

“Levantina” by Strunz & Farah - brilliant nylon string work by trhis duo.

“Mother Mother” by Tracy Bonham - Angry young woman pens an open letter to her parents; but the emotion is SO REAL it is distrurbing….in a good way.

What “off the beaten path” tunes would we find on YOUR list???
